Nella Buffmire has taught Spanish and English as a Second Language for 8 years. She completed her Master’s degree in Social Intervention and Immigration while teaching overseas. This allowed her to work with immigrants in southern Spain in the “invernaderos” (greenhouses). She taught English as a Second Language and provided assistance with common household technologies to help the participants integrate into Spanish culture. She also taught children and adults privately during the time she was completing her Master’s in Spain. After moving to Texas she taught a group of middle-aged women English as Second Language after completing her Master’s degree. She decided to start a tutoring company for Spanish and English. She has worked with children and adults from ages 4-75. Each student that comes from a different part of the world presents unique challenges. Her 12 year love affair with Spanish has shaped her professional and personal growth.
